Blue Bin
- The blue bin is used for recycling the following items: metal cans, glass bottles, glass jars, plastic bottles, plastic jars, drink cartons.
- To give yourself more room in the bin, crush and flatten the plastic cans and jugs. The following items cannot be put in your bins: hypodermic needles, broken glass, mirrors, dishes, frozen food boxes, soda or beer packaging, styrofoam, frozen food containers.
Green Bin
- The green bin is used for recycling the following items: mail, envelopes, paperback books, magazines, hardcover books minus the covers, computer paper, shredded paper, newspaper, thin cardboard, pasta boxes, cereal boxes, shoe boxes.
- Please place all paper products in a paper bag before placing in the green bin. This keeps the loose paper from blowing out of the bins and trucks. Newspaper can be placed in bags or tied in small bundles.
- Cardboard boxes must be no longer or wider than 3 ft. It must be flattened and tied in small bundles no thicker than 12".
- Clothing is also recyclable. Place in a plastic bag and flatten and mark the bag as clothing.
- The following items cannot be put in your bins: soda or beer packaging, pizza boxes, plastic bags, paper towels, tissue paper.
- Blue/Green Bins that are damaged, can be replaced free of charge, by bringing your old bin to the Public Works Center. Otherwise there is a $5.25 charge per blue bin & green bins.
