Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Announces the Opening Day of the Veterans Park Pool

Pawtucket Parks and Recreation encourages youth and residents to join them for opening day of the Veterans Park Pool on Saturday, June 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  

Located off Smithfield Avenue behind Nathanael Greene Elementary School, the pool is also one of several summer meal sites for children throughout the city. The Summer Meals Program, sponsored by Pawtucket School Department, Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Department, Pawtucket COZ programs (Child Opportunity Zones) and Aramark, is hosting its launch event featuring food and games at the pool from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 pm.

Pool hours (temporary schedule):

  • Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday: noon to 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday: closed temporarily
  • Wednesday: closed temporarily
  • Thursday: noon to 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 The entry cost is $1 per person.

Veterans Park also has a playground, tennis courts and picnic grove. Picnic rentals are coordinated through the Slater Park Office by calling 401-728-0500 ext.251 or 252. Rentals are only available during the operational hours of the pool.
