WHAT: Patriots players will participate in a special assembly and speak to students about the importance of staying active. During the visit, players will lead kids in fitness activities, as part of NFL’s PLAY 60 campaign, helping kids get 60 minutes of exercise a day.
On behalf of the NFL, Verizon FiOS, NFL Network and the New England Patriots, the City of Pawtucket will be presented with a $7,500 NFL PLAY 60 grant to support health and wellness programming or the purchase new sports equipment.

The NFL PLAY 60 After-School Kickoff grant in partnership with the National Recreation and Parks Association chose one after-school program in 9 selected NFL markets. Winning programs receive a $7,500 NFL PLAY 60 grant for health and wellness programming or equipment and a visit from NFL players.
Tentative schedule for Patriots PLAY 60 After-School visit:
3:30 p.m. – Player Arrival
3:45 p.m. – Assembly
4:00 p.m. – Players lead NFL PLAY 60 ultimate mini-camp
Patriots players will help the students get 60 minutes of exercise during the NFL PLAY 60 Mini-Camp, as part of the NFL PLAY 60 youth health and wellness campaign. In addition to the grant, the NFL will donate all fitness equipment used during the mini-camp for students to use in the future.
To celebrate the upcoming NFL season, after-school programs were encouraged to submit their application for the NFL PLAY 60 After-School Kickoff grant, demonstrating their commitment to youth health and wellness by submitting essays on their after-school’s game plan for teaching students the importance of physical activity and nutrition.
