Pawtucket Community Resource Event Announced
PAWTUCKET- The City of Pawtucket, Pawtucket School Department, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) have announced a resource event will be held for students and families next month on May 7th.
The fair is targeted for High School age students who are looking for opportunities over the summer in terms of both employment and camps or activities. Representatives from the City of Pawtucket, Pawtucket School Department, Pawtucket YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket, Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Housing, Comprehensive Community Action Plan, Pawtucket-Central Falls Development, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island, the Pawtucket Prevention Coalition, and Pawtucket Police Department will be present to provide all of the upcoming opportunities and resources for families.
“We are always working to ensure that there are resources for our families that not only exist but that they are made aware of,” said Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “This is an exciting new event where the city gets to showcase those exciting opportunities and assistance through working with our various partners.”
“There are so many resources in our community for students and families,” said Superintendent Dr. Cheryl McWilliams. “ This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to discover and connect with those resources. We are thankful for these partnerships and everything they do for our students, families, and community.”
The event will be held at Nathanael Greene Elementary School (285 Smithfield Ave, Pawtucket) from 11am to 2pm on May 7th outdoors to allow for ample space.
All ages are welcome. The event will have resources from information on upcoming events and job opportunities to collegiate information and RI Housing resources.
