Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Wellness Programs

The Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division has announced an array of recreation and wellness classes for the upcoming winter season.  Classes will be held during an eight week duration and take place at Jenks Junior High School and the Agnes Little Elementary School.  Class cancellations as a result of school vacation and inclement weather will be rescheduled to ensure the eight week commitment is met. 

 

Registration is currently open can be done online (see instructions below) or in person at the Slater Park Office at 825 Armistice Blvd during our business hours Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.  The link can be found at: https://pawtucketri.recdesk.com/Community/Home.  New members will click the “Create New Account” option while returning Parks & Recreation patrons will click “Log In”, providing an account has already been created. Use the “Programs” tab to review the class description, dates, cost, as well as register for the class. Credit or debit card payment will be requested to fulfill the registration process.

 

Class options include the following:

 

TOTAL BODY FIT has two individual classes that take place Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 pm to 7pm, starting on January 4th and 6th respectively. The Tuesday night class is an IN PERSON option that will be held at the Jenks Jr. High School. The Thursday night class will be conducted via ZOOM.  A Zoom link, pass code and other details will be conveyed by the instructor to registered students prior to the start of class. The overall cost for the 8-week session (Tuesday or Thursday) is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents.

 

DANCE MIX offers many dance styles including country, hip-hop, disco and wedding standards that will take place at Jenks Jr. High School on Wednesday nights from 6 pm to 7pm starting January 5th with a cost of $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents for the entire 8-week course.

 

ADULT YOGA will take place at the Agnes Little School, at 7:15 pm - 8:30 pm on Mondays starting on January 3rd.  An additional class will take place on Thursday evenings, starting on January 6th and will continue for 8 weeks. The overall cost for this eight-week class offering is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents.

 

HI-LOW AEROBICS will begin on Monday, January 3rd. These classes will also take place at the Agnes Little School from 6 pm – 7 pm. The overall cost for the Hi-Low Aerobics eight-week session is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents.

 

DANCE AEROBICS will be offered on both Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6pm – 7pm at Agnes Little School. The overall cost for this eight-week session is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents. Classes start on January 4th & 6th.

 

CHILDREN’S GYMNASTICS return to Saturday mornings at the Jenks Junior High School gymnasium, for ages 4-6 at 9:30 am with a second class offering for those ages 7 to 17 at 10:45 am. Classes begin on January 8th. The entire cost for an eight-week session is $56 for Pawtucket residents and $72 for non-residents.

 

All classes will follow the required protocols set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health and are outlined at the point of registration.
