Pawtucket Reaches COVID-19 Milestone at St. Anthony’s Parish Center

PAWTUCKET- On May 27th the City of Pawtucket reached an important milestone in the goal to vaccinate residents when the City announced it would be the last vaccination clinic at St. Anthony’s Parish Center.

Since its initial clinic on February 20th at St. Anthony’s Parish Center, along with other municipal and High Density Community clinics, have administered 12,579 doses in Pawtucket with 6,769 full vaccinations. These clinics were coordinated through the City of Pawtucket, Pawtucket Fire Department and Emergency Management.

“I want to thank St. Anthony’s Parish Center for their partnership through our vaccination efforts and all of the hard work and dedication of our firefighters and EMA personnel who helped to make these clinics possible,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “Through these clinics, we have been able to serve the residents of Pawtucket by providing a local option for vaccinations and continue to do so.”

Pawtucket continues to provide vaccination options for residents at the McCoy Stadium clinics on Wednesdays and Saturdays along with keeping up to date options with private and High Density Community clinics at www.pawtucketri.com/covid19.

Additionally, last week Pawtucket passed the threshold goal for case rates citing 99 new cases per 100,000 which is the lowest rate since September 13th through 19th of 2020.

“We are now down to a 2.9% positivity rate,” said Public Health and Equity Leader Elizabeth Moreira. “With positivity down and vaccination rates still rising, with 47.9% of people having received at least one dose, we need to continue this momentum to protect the community.”

The next vaccination clinic in Pawtucket is scheduled for tomorrow at McCoy Stadium from 5pm to 8pm. Walk ups are welcome and encouraged. Those who would like to register before can book an appointment here
